It's March. How did that happen. "Oh yea Pablo, it's because of that time never stops thing. I almost forgot. This last road trip was a fast one though. Lot's of places in a compact time period. Fountain Hills Festival, Reno, Red Bluff, CA, San Francisco, and points in between. Friends, family and new people and pets. All is so very good.
I did get to hook up with Brother Dan Palmer (BrotherDanPalmer.com) while in the Reno area. He's in Carson City, so it was just a half hour run down 580 to spend a day with my dear ol' friend. We traveled together for three years in the 1980's doing street shows, clubs, concerts, festivals etc. We busked a lot of places never got our asses kicked and made a lot of cash. We laughed a lot too. Our skills as musicians and magicians saved our butts plenty of times, as well as kept us guessing what agents wanted back then.
Being a versatile duo made it easy to blow in and out of towns and find work, fun and frivolity. The Partly Brothers - Party Music • Party Magic & All Fun! Most of the stories, we can tell quite openly. But we've always stayed in touch over the years. I met Dan in 1980 and we are truly Partly Brothers.
But back to today. It's good to be back in South Carolina getting rid of the road buzz and doing laundry and catching naps. Pat and I are definitely road dogs. It was our choice from the beginning of our relationship 34 years ago.
So I'm grinding, sanding and finishing 3D Loop Balls. I had some orders while I was out, so I have to catch up on the real World thing and ship 'em out this week. They are a labor of Love. I'm not sure how long I'll keep making them. They seem to be pretty labor intensive and since I'm still on the road now and then, I get behind and have to go into catch up mode to get them out. But at this time, I'll keep getting them out as I can.
THE ROAD NUGGETS PROJECT UPDATE:
I'm still on track to get the first installment of The Road Nuggets Project in the can by April. I'll splash the info in the right places and get as many of the Magi's I can to join the party and see where it goes. I think it's a great idea, but I've had those before too. Ideas are what we humans do. I'm also writing a book on "Focusing" that is 27 pages long that relies on using the cardboard toilet paper roll as a major learning tool. I think it's going to be a best seller. You see where "Ideas" can lead you?
I'll keep you updated on The Road Nuggets Project as it progresses. I've gathered the equipment to do a 3 cam shoot from any location and it will be a complete "One Trick Lecture" live on Zoom with full discussion from the participants. Did I mention Focus? We'll zero in on a specific subject. It will be downloadable and archived. It will be what my life is made of over the past 5 decades of magic. Enough said. Details coming soon.
